1. Who We Are

InkFawn (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the website at inkfawn.com. We create personalized AI-generated children's storybooks. For questions about this policy, contact us at fred@inkfawn.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use InkFawn:

  • Account information: Email address and password (if you create an account), or email captured via payment checkout for guest purchases.
  • Child details for book creation: First name, age, gender, appearance selections (hair color, hair style, skin tone, eye color via dropdown menus), and up to 3 interests. We do not collect photographs of children.
  • Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe (for international payments) or Razorpay (for India). We never see, store, or have access to your full card number.
  • Usage data: Standard web analytics including pages visited, browser type, and general location (country-level via IP for currency selection).

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

InkFawn is designed for parents and guardians to create books for their children. We take children's privacy very seriously:

  • We do not collect photos, videos, or images of children.
  • Child appearance is captured exclusively through dropdown selectors (hair color, skin tone, etc.) — no free-form image uploads.
  • We collect only a child's first name and age — no last names, addresses, school names, or other identifying information.
  • Children do not create accounts or interact with our service directly. All interactions are through a parent or guardian.
  • Generated storybook content is AI-produced with strict safety filters ensuring all content is G-rated and age-appropriate.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To generate your personalized storybook (story text + illustrations + PDF)
  • To process your payment and deliver your purchase
  • To send order confirmation and download link emails
  • To allow you to access purchased books from your “My Books” page
  • To improve our service and fix bugs

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. AI-Generated Content

Stories are generated using Anthropic's Claude AI. Illustrations are generated using Google's Gemini AI. Both services process the child details you provide (name, age, appearance, interests) to create personalized content. Generated images include SynthID watermarks per Google's responsible AI practices. AI-generated content is filtered for safety and age-appropriateness.

6. Data Storage & Security

  • Account data and book records are stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security.
  • Generated images and PDFs are stored in Supabase Storage with private access (signed URLs only).
  • Download links expire after 7 days. Logged-in users can generate fresh links anytime.
  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption.
  • Payments are handled entirely by Stripe/Razorpay — we never store card details.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, file storage
  • Stripe — payment processing (international)
  • Razorpay — payment processing (India)
  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI story generation
  • Google (Gemini) — AI illustration generation
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Vercel — website hosting
  • Inngest — background job processing

Each service has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your purchased book PDFs
  • Opt out of marketing emails (we don't send any currently)

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (Supabase Auth session) and a country-detection cookie to display the correct currency (USD or INR). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of InkFawn after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
